Grumpy Shakespearean Sheep!

Every Grumpy Sheep song that we’ve ever recorded has been sung by our fabulous singer Katy. Indeed we often jokingly refer to her as the voice of Grumpy Sheep!

Not to put too fine a point on it, Grumpy Sheep’s voice has been getting around recently; more precisely has been found singing her woolly little socks off with the brilliant choral group Ex Cathedra in a live Radio 3 broadcast celebrating all that is Shakespeare. Not in our recording studio either – but at Holy Trinity Church, Stratford upon Avon, where Shakespeare was baptised and buried. We don’t mind. It was only a world premiere commemorative concert. Nothing much…

Not content with our woolly company, the voice of Grumpy Sheep was found hobnobbing with Benedict Cumberbatch, David Tennant, Sir Ian McKellen, Dame Judi Dench, HRH the Prince of Wales…shall we go on? If only these celebrities knew what they were missing. They could be performing star roles from Grumpy Sheep musicals. Can’t you just see Dame Judi as the ‘Hoity-Toity Angel?’ Or ex Dr. Who as ‘The Very Hopeless Camel’ who always gets lost? And don’t you think Sherlock would make a roaringly fine 'King of All Polar Bears….?'

Joking apart, we’re really proud of Katy and her beautiful voice. And that Grumpy Sheep’s voice was being heard loud and clear. Beautifully reflected sheepish glory. Next time, however, we’ll get Katy to lead the star studded cast in a rousing chorus of ‘Wiggle the Hump!’ We will. Next time…
